Lidocaine HCl
Indications/Uses
Infiltrations & regional nerve block anesth in general surgical & dental procedures. Topical mucosal anesth during surgery or instrumentation.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Infiltration or regional anesth Use 0.5-2% soln in dosage of 3.5 mg/kg. Total dose: 300 mg (15 mL) w/o epinephrine & 500 mg (25 mL) w/ epinephrine. Topical mucosal anesth Use 1.2% soln in a spray or applicator.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to amide type local anesth agents.
Special Precautions
Patients w/ severe shock, heart shock, or other conduction disturbances. Presence of inflammation &/or sepsis. May cause severe local irritation. Not intended for spinal or epidural anesth. Debilitated, acutely ill patients. Women of childbearing potential. Pregnancy (early). Childn. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Nervousness, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, tremor, convulsions, drowsiness.
